Celebrating 50 years since the formation of Cotham Parish Church

Cotham @ 50

50 years ago, in September 1976, the congregations of St Saviour’s Church (Chandos Rd) and St Mary’s Church (Belgrave Rd) moved into the vacant Highbury Chapel, which stands at the top of St Michael’s Hill, Cotham Hill and Hampton Road.

Our congregation formed 50 years ago when two existing churches came together, and this coming together is echoed in how the building now stands as a beacon of unity and peace.

Cotham Parish Church is home to a range of community and congregational activities. At Green Cotham, anyone can enjoy the benefits of gardening for wellbeing; Earthy Foundations offers storytelling and playful nurture for young children and carers; weddings, services of blessing and other significant life events enjoy the beautiful and flexible space; and the monthly life-affirming Cotham Club offers global music gigs right on your doorstep! In addition, our halls and meeting rooms are home to Redland Scouts, XR, Tae Kwando, adult dance classes, birthday parties, ballroom dancing and much more.

Cotham Parish Church is committed to creating a community that is safe, just and inclusive for all. We offer services and gatherings for those seeking time for quiet reflection, where we seek to tend to the needs of our wounded planet and people.

Come and See for yourself!
