For all the Saints who from their labours rest,
Who Thee, by faith, before the world confessed.
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.
Alleluia!

Lord, we thank you for all who have helped us and inspired us on our Christian journey.   For parents and Grandparents, friends, teachers and spiritual leaders….  May we live up to their example.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

We pray for the Church

We thank you for all who are called to lead in worship, prayer and community.  Keep them humble and focused on you.  And give them wisdom and insight, that your kingdom may be seen to be at work here on earth.

For those for whom following you means risking persecution we ask your protection, but recognise that as you test us, our faith grows stronger as we learn to depend more on you.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

We pray for our World

We thank you for all who have led and governed wisely and justly in your name.   Who have laid their lives down for their people and for those who have paid the ultimate price.   We ask that you will raise up more like them to inspire nations and heal the rifts between them.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

Lord, almost every week somewhere on our planet suffers a disaster due to extreme weather, be it flooding, forest fires, earthquake…  Help us to take steps to limit our own impact on our environment by living more simply.  Guide scientists and researchers to find new and safe ways of providing energy.   Guide our parliament and those of other nations so that they make decisions which will benefit rather than harm the planet.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

For saints who have worked patiently and compassionately to serve their fellow men and women.   Doctors and nurses, social workers, mediators, teachers, priests or simply friends and neighbours.

Healing, encouraging, befriending and taking the time to focus on the needs of others in your name…    We thank you.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

We pray for all who are struggling to cope with life.   Help them to depend on you.

We pray for all who mourn.  May they grow in understanding and find comfort.

We pray for the bitter and angry.   Calm them and help them to be thankful.

We pray for those who live in fear.  May they find security and peace of mind.

Enable us to recognise the needs of those around us and give us the generosity and will to meet those needs.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

We pray for our charity of the month:  Joliba, which supports development in farming communities in Mali.

In our parish we remember….

Comfort and heal all who suffer in body mind or spirit, give them courage and hope in their troubles and bring them the joy of your salvation.

For ourselves, we ask that we would live in the present, thankful for the past and mindful of the future.  Make us a people of prayer so that we turn to you instead of relying on our own strength and intellect.

Lord in your mercy,

Hear our prayer

Hear us as we remember those who have died recently…

Rejoicing in the fellowship of all your saints we commend ourselves and all Christian people to your unfailing love.

Merciful Father,

Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ,

Amen.
