Llangasty Retreat House, near Brecon Would you like to join us on Retreat this year?

We are going back to the wonderful Llangasty Retreat House www.llangasty.com. Llangasty Retreat House is set in stunning countryside with views over a lake. It’s a comfortable house with two chapels, a sitting room and a good library. The staff are welcoming and un-intrusive, and the food is good. It is a bit of a trek: 54 miles (11⁄2 hours by car, longer in the Friday rush-hour) but there will be lifts on offer.
We structure the retreat around short services (Morning Prayer, Eucharist, and Compline) with periods of ‘Lectio Divina’in which the group shares responses to passages of scripture. You can come to as much as or as little of this as is right for you, and there is plenty of space and time for private reflection, reading, relaxation and walking.

‘I loved the view from the bedroom, the beauty of the place, the walks by the lake, the comfort and thrill of just turning up and finding food lovingly prepared. But more than this was the joy of the Lectio Divina which I had never done in that way before, and the long periods of silence but at the same time feeling held in companionship with all the others”.

The cost for the weekend is £175, with a concession rate of £100. If you’d like to come but can’t afford these rates then let us know and we’ll do what we can.
We expect the retreat to fill and there’ll be extra pressure this year of reduced numbers due to covid. We are going to give some priority to people who haven’t been before and will work this out in the first half of September. So, if you’re interested, please let us know by 1st September.
